You can compare up to 6 portfolio companies side-by-side across financial statements, cash flow, key performance indicators, and metadata in a single view.

Accessing Company Comparison

Navigate to Organization > Compare Companies from the main navigation menu.

Selecting Companies

  1. Use the company selector at the top of the page to search for and select companies.
  2. Select up to 6 companies at a time for optimal readability. This is a UI guideline rather than a server-enforced limit.
  3. Selected companies appear as column headers in each comparison tab.
  4. To remove a company, deselect it in the company picker or click Clear All to start over.

Date Range

Use the month range picker to select the reporting period for the comparison.

  • The default range covers 2 months ending at the previous month.
  • The maximum range is 36 months.
  • Changing the date range reloads the comparison data for all selected companies.

Detail Level

For the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash tabs, a Level selector controls how much account hierarchy detail you see.

  • Level 1 -- shows only top-level account categories.
  • Higher levels progressively reveal more detailed sub-accounts.

The number of available levels depends on the depth of the account hierarchy in each company's data. Different companies and financial statements may have different numbers of levels depending on how their chart of accounts is structured.

Use the expand/collapse buttons on individual rows to drill into specific categories.

Comparison Tabs

Shows the income statement for each selected company in a hierarchical table. Rows represent account categories (revenue, cost of goods sold, expenses, etc.) and columns show each company's values.

  • Subtotal rows are visually highlighted.
  • Currency values are formatted automatically.
  • Expand rows to see detailed sub-accounts.

Balance Sheet

Shows the balance sheet for each selected company in the same hierarchical format as the income statement. You can view assets, liabilities, and equity categories with expandable detail.

KPIs

Shows key performance indicators organized into sub-tabs based on the 5 C's of Credit framework:

  • Capacity -- Profitability and financial strength ratios including gross profit margin, operating profit margin, net profit margin, revenue growth, revenue growth rate, current ratio, quick ratio, debt-to-equity, interest coverage ratio, estimated debt service coverage ratio, return on assets, and return on equity.
