Portfolio Visualization (Pulse View)

Visualize your portfolio with the Pulse view for a grid-based financial health overview.

Pulse view is a visual mode for the portfolio dashboard that displays your companies as a grid of cards with financial health indicators. It provides a quick, high-level overview of your entire portfolio's status.

Accessing Pulse View

  1. Navigate to the portfolio dashboard.
  2. Click the view mode toggle.
  3. Select Pulse to switch from the default table view.
You can also access Pulse view directly by adding ?portfolioView=pulse to the portfolio URL.

How Pulse View Works

Pulse view retrieves financial metrics for all companies in your portfolio and displays them as individual data points in a visual grid. Each company is represented as a card showing normalized financial health metrics.

Metrics Displayed

Pulse view computes and visualizes the following financial metrics for each company:

  • Operating Profit Margin
  • Net Profit Margin
  • Return on Assets
  • Return on Equity
  • Revenue Growth Rate
  • Altman Z-Score
  • Quick Ratio
  • Debt-to-Equity Ratio
  • Total Assets
  • Total Revenue
  • Gross Profit Margin
  • Operating Income
  • Free Cash Flow
  • Bank Balance

Metrics are normalized to allow comparison across companies of different sizes.

Metrics Summary

Pulse view also calculates aggregate statistics across your portfolio, providing minimum, maximum, median, and mean values for each metric.

Shared Controls

Pulse view shares the same controls as the table view:

  • Date Range -- use the month range picker to select the reporting period.
  • Search -- search for companies by name.
  • Filters -- apply advanced filters by labels, integrations, metadata, and financial metrics. AND/OR logic is supported.
  • Company Selection -- select individual companies within the visualization for focused analysis.

Any filters or search terms you apply in Pulse view persist when you switch back to the table view, and vice versa.

Switching Back to Table View

To return to the table view:

  • Click the Back to Table button in the Pulse view toolbar.
  • Or click the view mode toggle and select Table.

Your filter and search state is preserved when switching between views.

Performance

Pulse view data is cached for fast loading. If you notice stale data, use the refresh button to fetch the latest metrics. For large portfolios, the visualization displays up to 2,000 companies at a time.
